Thriveworks is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help scale our accounting function within a fast-growing, multi-entity healthcare organization. This is a manager-level role reporting directly to the Financial Controller and overseeing both the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams. • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and accounts payable.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the team.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Directly manage and develop Accounting and Accounts Payable team members.
• Oversee accounting activities across multiple legal entities and intercompany transactions.
• Support consolidated reporting and financial analysis.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting and audits.
• Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and increase automation.
• Optimize the use of our ERP system (Sage Intacct).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Payroll, Legal, Revenue Cycle Management, and Operations teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• CPA or equivalent professional license preferred.
• Experience managing accounting teams.
• Prior healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
• Prior public accounting experience and exposure to high-growth or private-equity-backed environments preferred.
